White Oleander

Today my best friend and I are finally watching " White Oleander". Lets back up a little to tell you the history of why I describe it as " finally.
My friend, Melissa, and I were co teachers together in the two year old class in our local daycare. Yes the terrible two's! We honestly just stayed for the kids. I don't know how I would get through each day without my bestie. Anyways.... during nap time I would usually read a book. I read so many books during that time! Melissa are a lot alike and very different at the same time. She suggested some things and sometimes it went well and sometimes I did agree but that would be a boring friendship if we were the same. Melissa took french in college, traveled to France and bought one of her favorite books in France, White Oleander. She must of trusted me because she gave it to me to read. It was a big bulky book and I was thinking it was going to take forever for me to finish this book. People say "don't judge a book by the cover" but come on .... a lot of us do. The cover was int interesting and the back was as well but, it was my friends favorite book and I wanted to know why.
I was instantly hooked and love the story. Hard childhood, crazy mom kind of hooked. I don't want to give the story away at all but it was a book I have never read and enjoyed. It was a lot of "adult" things.
One day my dad saw my reading it and mentioned there is a movie named White Oleander. I told Melissa and she told me she had never seen it and we needed to ASAP. That was in 2010?!?!
The other day I was looking through my step moms movies and found...... White Oleander. So Melissa and I finally are watching it tonight! Only 4 years later.

Here are a few of my favorite things

This week I am sharing my love for the book " The Glass Castle" by the American Journalists Jeanette Walls. Jeannette has lived in New York as a successful journalist for MSNBC and has never opened up about her childhood until she wrote this memoir about her upbringing.
I first read this book two years ago and listen to it on Audio book as I was driving miles and miles a day from school to work. I instantly was intrigued and couldn't stop listening to the successful women and all the "Crap" she went through and still is very successful. It was an eye opener to me that it doesn't matter where you come from you truly are your own person and make your future.
Throughout the book she describes the hardships and crazy things her parents think are normal things to do. I don't want to give away the book but it is amazing and I am going to be reading it again. I gave it to my grandmother to read and she is in awe of the hard things this women went trough growing up. Overall this is a great book, especially if YOU thought you had a hard childhood;think again.
I have heard many rumors about making this book into a movie and I know I will be there opening night. There is no release date but there has been talk that Jennifer Lawrence will be in it? I don't know how I feel about that yet just because she is such a big actor.
That wraps up my weekly "Here are a few of my favorite things "
Thanks all!

Where is Ashton Kutcher?

Hey there!
I am a 22 year old making my way to be a Elementary School Teacher. I have a full time job at a Arborist Company doing Admin work. Fun stuff huh? Almost everyday I am told the following
" Are you making this up (while laughing)"
"(LAUGHING)"
"Are you serious"
and " You need to write a book or a blog".
So here I am finally sharing the world the daily stories that happen to me that most people cant believe can all happen to one person. It inst all terrible things, just things that you stare and think into space "Did that really just happen?
So welcome to my blog and enjoy reading the crazy things about my family, my work and just the random crap that happens. I am not wanting pity; I am over the "Why ME" phase. Now I just accept it laugh and more on because I don't expect anything less.
So back to the title " Where is Ashton Kutcher?" When things happen I think someone is pulling a joke on me or I am being Punk'd.

So the major thought that comes to mind when something happens is "Where is DAMN ASHTON?" He is lucky he is gorgeous!
